Q and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Rewatching Thunderball, I was struck by how each gadget presented to Bond by Q had a role in the story. Q doesn't provide any superfluous gadgets. Same thing in From Russia With Love. How prescient Q must be to know exactly what's going to be needed (and what won't be necessary). He must have gotten an advance copy of the screenplay.

This reminded me of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. In each episode the extension of the Mousekadoer computer named Toodles presents four Mouseketools. Each and every Mouseketool will then be used in the resolution of the plot. Was Toodles inspired by Q?

Your point is similar to college/classroom sequences in horror movies. Whenever there's a scene in teen slashers in which the teacher or professor lectures about a certain topic, this topic always comes back in some certain way later in the film, when the student are in lethal danger...

I felt the knife in my hand, and she laughed no more...

q never had a cooler shirt, the villain looks like jay leno with an eyepatch, did i just hear bond pronounce the word women like it's spelled, no right? that seems like a new thing, like people starting a centence with "so". the end credits look weird and suddenly goes dark without the usual "james bond will return". openings on bond movies are often a bit weird, here it appears bond is hitting a woman, imagine watching that for the first time. i actually fast forward the overlong underwater scenes.

stuck in old times,
while you went on with your new life,
everything i knew has gone away,
dusty and lonesome in the good ol days,
drifting lost in space,
as the cord breaks.
