filming location: Taxadho, Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo, Mexico

the new DVD features a 1996 French documentary showing that this was actually filmed in Taxadho, Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo, Mexico. I used to live near there and have driven right by the filming location probably 300 times without ever knowing it. My guess is that the pillar is still there in the field? Has anyone gone?

Another interesting irony missed by the documentary: Taxa-dho means "white rock" in the native Otomi language. Approprate for a film about a man atop an marble tower!

I've tried to find Taxadho in Google Maps, but can't find it. Ixmiquilpan is easy to spot though. If you know where the filming location was, maybe you can find something in Google Maps or Google Earth, it would be interesting.

I bet that pillar is still there now. They even tried moving it out of there with equipment and couldn't do it.
