How Does It Begin

I have watched this movie twice, and caught it accidentally and unfortunately both times I have not caught it from the beginning, missing about the first half hour. Can someone please tell me how it begins - I hope to catch it from start to finish eventually, as it is such a well made touching film, but would really appreciate finding this out in the meantime.

Thanks.

In the beginning, Selina is beading a necklace in a small cramped apartment. In walks her mother, Rose-Ann. She wants to know where supper is and Selina gets it. Then walks in Ole Pa and he and Rose-Ann start fighting about the stash of liquor that's hidden in the house and who's been stealing sips from it and what not. The next morning after Rose-Ann goes to work, Selina begs Ole Pa to take to her to park so she can work on her beads there like she did the day before. On his way to work Ole Pa walks with Selina to the park and leaves her there. Selina begins to day dream about what it would be like if she could see. Then a caterpillar falls on her shoulder and Selina begins to get frightened and Gordon, who wis walking by, stops and helps remove the caterpillar and notices Selina's blindness. The two begin talking and Selina tells Gordon the night that changed her life when she was 5----<Selina's father was away in the Navy and he comes home one night and catches Rose-Ann with one of her "clients" and the two men get into a fight and Rose-Ann throws a bottle of bleach at the father but it smashes and falls on Selina instead and that was how she became blind.> Gordon goes to the store and finds a pair of sunglasses for Selina to wear. He then gives her some juice and helps her with her beads. The next scene shows Gordon at work and Selina is all alone in the park at night. She becomes nervous and Ole Pa comes staggering into the park intoxicated and the two walk home together.

I don't know how far along you've watched the movie. Let me know and I can finish if you need me to.

It's all about the corned beef sandwiches and pineapple juice

Thanks so much, Sugar! I came on the part where she meets Gordon in the park, it had to be the second time. I don't know if that is what happens next from the great and detailed description you gave me.

Thanks again for your help.
