Elizabeth Hartman,a sad end to a great actress

Elizabeth suffered from depression up to the end of her life. This is why we didnt see her in too many more movies after APOB.A few years ago,she jumped out her apartment window to her death.Im sorry that was the only way she found peace.

I actually cried when I found out that she is no longer with us. I love this movie. It's my ultimate favorite. I am always taken away at Elizabeth's performance. And the fact that she was a fledgling. She is so amazing!!

It's all about the corned beef sandwiches and pineapple juice

Yes it was very sad what happened to her. She did a superb acting job in this movie, which is one of my all time favorites. Shelley Winters and Sidney Poitier are two of my faves as well. Shelley did such a great job playing a b****.

There is a behind-the-scenes short about her role called A Cinderella Story that TCM frequently runs with the movie. It focuses on how thrilled everyone was with her performance. Very poignant :(

Yes--the pineapple juice. At first, I didn't get it when she was all alone against her tree, at night, and she shows slight discomfort, there's a shot of the empty juice bottles, then calls out "Is anyone there?". It was awhile before I realized she needed to urinate and wanted to make sure she was alone.
The sensitivity of this movie...Hartman's performance was heartbreaking.

Such a beautiful, sensitive actress, and how sad that the pressures of this world proved too much for her. She was wonderful here and in "The Beguiled." A wonderful actress who is sadly missed today.
