I see that everyone is asking when this movie is going to be on dvd. Did the original dvd release get pulled from distribution or something? I distinctly remember seeing it for sale around 1999 or so, (and this was on a STORE SHELF, not simply announced online) but I didn't buy it since I already had the excellent laserdisc. Did this first dvd edition go out of existence?

shareI can't find anything anywhere about it, but I distinctly remember seeing the dvd for sale at Laser Blazer, a Los Angeles dvd store that carries everything under the sun. This would have been around 1999. I don't know where it came from, or why there's no record of it anywhere, but it was there. The cover was not the same as the upcoming Warner release; it was the same artwork of the coffin but was against a more muted blue background. I'm totally perplexed by this; I'm not given to hallucinations. I wish I had bought the damned thing; obviously I'd have some kind of collector's item. Where on earth could this have come from?
shareIt sounds like either a homemade copy or import version. Many rental places actually carry these if there is no alternative.
