I thought I remember reading somewhere that there was a longer version (5 hours?) of this, but was cut down for its theatrical release (because there were too many LA personalities being mocked?). Anyone know about this?

yes there was, I think it was closer to 4 hours. Copies are said to exist. A friend of mine met Jonatan Winters a few years back and they spoke about it, with my friend saying he wanted to see it. "No you don't, kid" was Winters reply.
shareAs much as I hate to dispute Saint Jonathan -- one of the funniest men who ever lived -- I WOULD like to see it. Chances are there are at least a few magnificent performances hidden in there.
