I watched my DVD of this movie last night and found it's another DVD that's been edited.
The part missing is where Stewart insists on testing the engine much to the chagrin of Mr Slide rule. This is an essential part of the movie and I cannot understand why they cut it. Surely not to make it a single layer ??
...I just watched a copy of the European code 2 DVD and the scene was there!
however great movie ...terrific actors and direction... a true classic!!!
It has always been part of any version I have seen. If there are versions where it hads been cut I agree that is crazy - this is an absolutely crucial moment in the battle of wits between the 2 characters.
