Not on Dvd

So is this movie available at all? I watched it about 25 times when I was a kid and the only movie that freaked me out more was War of the Worlds (saw that about 50 times). Would love to see this again.

Try Creepy Classics at the following link:

It is video to DVD transfer, with the quality you would expect, but I wanted to see it so bad again, I ordered it from these guys. DVD is generic, but the case cover is nice. Cost is $20 ($15 + 5 s/h)

You can get it on DVD here: http://retroflicks.com/shop/store/00019.html. Great quality!

reply

Not anymore, according to their website. Not available. Maybe Paramount, the movie's distributor, had their copyright lawyers send Retroflicks a mean letter.

Recently saw a DVD version on eBay.

I bought a DVD off Ebay. Looks professonal until you see the AMC logo. Company calls itself VISIONS ENTERTAINMENT. Includes trailer, and they even bother to trademark their logo and put a bar code on the package!
For a knock off, it's pretty nice.

I recently got a copy of that version too, and noticed that the cover bears the plot synopsis I wrote here over a decade ago. ;)

Not even on VHS! With all the CRAP that's put out on DVD, you'd think that someone with a BRAIN STEM would put this CLASSIC out! Guess I'll have to CHERISH my "Off air" years old dub a while longer! Dream listing on non commercial TCM or Fox Movie channel!

I have also been trying to find this on DVD. Early in December I did see some copies on half.com from Great Britain. I didn't order since I was unsure of the format. If anyone knows anything about the studio possibly putting this out, please post the info.

If Paramount had any brains at all, they'd make the bootlegging of this wonderfully funny film unprofitable by putting it out on DVD themselves.

reply

Paramount has licensed to Olive Films, who'll be releasing the DVD on July 27th, 2010. Details and artwork at classicflix.com.

Amazon states that they will release for sale on July 13,2010. Can preorder now.

reply

That was the original release date; it was changed earlier this week to July 27th.

Uh-oh. I preordered Blood Of Dracula's Castle with Amazon in Aug., 2008. Still waiting.
