The one plot hole that I will never understand is Ann's inability to escape with Bunny at the end of the movie. When Stevie was blindfolded, why didn't she just take her daughter and leave the way she came in?

I always assumed she was afraid that if she just left him like that, sooner or later he'd come after them and kill them. I kind of thought that the swinging game, since they were yelling pretty loud, she was hoping would wake the neighbors or alert the constable (cop on the beat in the neighborhood) and get him that way.
