It's so funny when you watch this movie now and you see Linda Evans in one of her earliest movie appearances as a starlet being represented by Paul Lynde. I think this movie was even pre-THE BIG VALLEY, let alone pre-DYNASTY. If memory serves, I think Evans even sings in this film so you DYNASTY fans should definitely give it a peek, if for no other reason, morbid curiosity.

rod, my brother, i couldn't agree more! linebacker indeed. i love bbb, and linda's cute, bubble gum tunes. personally, though, i believe she'll live on in show business memory via THE BIG VALLEY. she was great as audra. the pity about all the beach party movies is that there are no true soundtracks (meaning all the songs EXACTLY as we heard them in the film) available. miss donna loren rocks!! I can't even think of how "Fly Boy" goes without seeing the movie again, but I love "True Love" despite it getting stuck in my head from time to time.

shareTo kitttenwithawhip: There's an excellent CD, "Summer Beach Party" (Varese Sarabande, 2006), that has several Beach Blanket Bingo songs in their soundtrack versions. There are the Donna Loren gems, including "Love's a Secret Weapon" that you mentioned, and my favorite, "It Only Hurts When I Cry." It does not contain the songs lip-synched by Linda Evans, such as "He's My New Love." They probably limited their choices to songs by the featured performers. The CD was mentioned in other threads, so you may already know of it, but I'll add it here in case some missed it.
shareI remember when Arsenio Hall had his late night talk show he had LInda on as a guest and told her they found a long lost episode from The Big Valley so they had a clip. SHe reacted "oh really" and was excited to see it. Then a clip of the scene of her singing in the red dress "My True Love" from Beach Blanket Bingo came up. After it played she turned to Arsenio to say "that is not Big Valley" He was hiding behind the couch and I think she jokingly said "im gonna get you". It was so funny. Of course we know now she didnt really sing but was lip syching to the voice of another female singer.
Linda was in an earlier movie called "Those Calloways" which I still have not seen but photos of her from it she was such a cutie and so very young.
