Did anyone else notice that during the scene at the club where von zipper crashes and ends up in a fish tank, they cut to bonehead (sitting with Marta Kristen and Annette and Frankie) bonehead says a line about the incident but no audio comes out -- it really screws the scene up. Big flaw that should be fixed, plus they cut a ton out of the double date with the two couples; frankie picked them up in a hot rod or rat rod and it got cut out to the movie. I have the DVD studio release and it has no directors cut. they need to get with it!!! this is one of the best films (silly or not).

There are several different prints of this running around, most of which have some hamfisted editing like this, probably the result of these being old TV prints that had to be edited for commercials. There is a missing scene at the nightclub where the Rats do a funny dance to the waltz playing. The scene with Bonehead was during that sequence and is dropped rather awkwardly into most prints. Lorelei has asked Boney who the Rats are and he replies "They're the Peace Corp Rejects".
I've never seen the hotrod scene you're talking about, that may be from a different film. And I agree an uncut version would be cool!

I've seen a still from a scene where Annette and Frankie, still in their outfits for the double date are back at home obviously discussing with Mike Nader and his girlfriend having seen Deadhead burying Lorelei's dress.
