A solid 10/10 rating for this one.

I don't hand out 10's easily , but this docudrama is a tour de force. Love to hear any recommendations on "similar" films, if similar films even exist!

You should see Oliver Stone's Salvador. These both movies are some of my biggest favorites.

I don't know, I saw the first 30 minutes, and it wasn't very impressive. I was kind of bored the whole time and simply turned it off, seeing as I have more important things to do than watch another 90 minutes of the same, boring piece of film.

Agree, have never seen anything quite like this....it did remind me of "La Jetée" a bit, not that there are any real simularities perhaps....

"The actor who played la Pointe was born for this role, the look in his eyes at this moment almost seems as if he himself can hear the narrator."

Agree, he was perfect throughout....

"A child of five would understand this. Send someone to fetch a child of five."

Check out Burn (1970) starring Marlon Brando. He said it was his favorite role of all time. He plays a colonial master on a mythical Carribbean island. I haven't seen it in a very long time but it moved me when I saw it way back when.

I rarely give 10/10, but this is another one. Pontecorvo is excellent, and he believes in what he does, and the actors (mostly amateurs) were excellent, as well as Jean Martin, the only professional.

It's such a moving film, fair, but they should have shown the 50 times the French bombed the Casbah first.

More relevant today than ever...
