Is it connected with the original Kimba series, and the "Leo The Lion" series or is it just a remake that stands on its own?
shareThe movie is based on the last volume of the manga, which is about Leo's (Kimba's) death. The television series a had happier ending compared to the manga, my guess is that the Tezuka studios wanted a movie that was closer to the manga for the older fans.
