WOW....

Watched The Yacht Murder Case from S1 D1 last night (the sixth episode of the show). We know she was pregnant in the first season and the producers did a lot to conceal her pregnancy. I'd already noticed it before watching other episodes of the show again. She was showing but not that much.

But in this episode... my goodness. Watch her beginning at 19:20 in a scene with her and Roger Healy. she comes down the stairs (in heels, at that) and she is HUGE. Granted, when this episode aired back in 1965, old B&W TVs were much smaller; the pictures were grainier and you saw it one time and that was it. No one then ever counted on our modern, mega-screen HDTVs and Blu-ray players with pause and rewind, so you can watch it again and again.

Anyway, she is AMAZING. She handles the scene flawlessly and gracefully. Her athletics are incredible to watch as she climbs over the couch and stands on the table and bends up and down. She must have been in incredible shape. Something they worked so well to cover up end up being the funniest thing in the episode.

But in the end, I can't help but feel a little sad about it. We know the child she carries is her son who grows up and suffers from drug addiction, dying from an overdose in 2001. So tragic.
