Great movie, but what happened to Hermione Gingold?

First saw and loved this movie as a teenager, and still think it is terrific today. George Roy Hill, his Oscar for THE STING notwithstanding, is one of this past century's most underrated and unknown directors, but both his stage and film work deserve better appreciation, and HENRY ORIENT is one of the best examples of a great filmmaker. Bravos not only to Mss. Walker (Elizabeth, as we know from this site) and Spaeth, whose natural acting talents are the heart and soul of the film, but to the great suporting cast (Angela Lansbury, of course, but also Tom Bosley, Phyllis Thaxter and Bibi Osterwald). But what happened to the great Hermione Gingold, whose scenes were deleted? Does anyone know what role she might have played? Does United Artists have the deleted scenes in its vaults, and could we expect to see them some day on the next release of this great film? Would appreciate any information anyone has on this.
