Thought I should just post it like this. I was running around informing seperate posts all over the place. It has just begun, but I have plans....Hope you like my article about my friend, he needs big support. I'm sure I should work on it lots more. Writing thoughts on the fly is fun but writing to change another's life takes more consentration.

I just read your blog entry regarding your friend Seth.

What the hell is happening with Yale...?!! Monster cover-ups; a poet at the Outsider Writers website complaining about Yale's treatment of the homeless; unsavoury political ties; your blog entry on friend Seth--It seems that whenever I read or hear something about this campus and its associates these days, it's increasingly negative and nauseating. It's now hard to imagine poet John Hollander ever having taught there. (Could it have been just a coincidence that John Hinckley decided to stalk Jodie Foster there?!!) It sounds like New Haven--and increasingly all of Connecticut--is at this university's mercy. I'm now starting to form this image in my mind of Yale as some sort of fictional Eastern European feudal manor, with a Doctor Doom- or Darth Vader-type character in despotic control, and all the poor little 'plebes' and 'serfs' of Connecticut running and hiding for dear life at the foot of the great mountain on which it is located.

By the way, your friend Seth sounds quite a bit like my friend Robin Tilley, with whom I compiled a whacked-out little 24-page chapbook of poetic collaborations, In The Grip of Sirens, in 2006. Diagnosed schizo-effective while in university over twenty years ago, Robin has been up to his gills in lithium since the early '90s. Needless to say, his liver has not been functioning too well in recent years....

I must say, I'm very frightened to print it, but must try to do something to help my friend. The piece is tortured, but I want to see if it can drum up support for him, eh? So I want to notify some people about it, but I am so new at this...have any of you got a good idea for a site that would be appropriate to link it to?

Hmm...There must be some decent ombudsman-type sites on here somewhere. Here in Canada, people usually call in the media--particularly the television stations--in cases like this, hoping such stories can somehow appeal to the writers and producers' extreme-left and/or extreme-right sensibilities (i.e., whims and dogmas), resulting in 'human interest' stories.

Good luck, and keep me--us--up to speed on this matter; by now, Elizabeth, I think you're well aware of just how prevalent such cases are....
