Random observation

Anyone noticed there are no pocket holes on the pool table when Clouseau and Bellon are playing? It is also in "The Party" pool playing scene when Seller's is playing "Wyoming Bill Kelso". Just something I picked up after about the 30th time I viewed it.

There are no pockets because it is a carom billiards table. It's a different game than "pocket billiards." Another clue is that they are playing with two cue balls, also part of the carom billiards game.

I never noticed that detail. How on earth does the game of "carom" billiards work if there are no pockets in the table?? What are you supposed to try and achieve in order to win?
Actually to be honest I don't even kow how to play billiards, I just play pool!

For Pete's sake, man! Use your imagination! Or, since you know what it's called, look it up!
OK, FYI, you have three balls on the table. You play the cue ball, which has to hit the other two. A number of variants exists, three-cushion being the best known, which, due to its difficulty, attracts lots of spectators in tournaments. In three-cushion play the cue ball has to hit the cushion at least 3 times before it hits the second ball.
Have a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRTn3MSTULE or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8hriqG7JPU and you just know that pool is for sissies :-)
(the girl is not really required to play the game)
