Terrible example for kids

I just watched this and actually paid attention for once. This is a terrible example for kids. The whole town, including Santa Claus treats Rudoulph like a sack of sh!t just for being born different. The other reindeer want absolutely nothing to do with him. His own father is embarrassed by him and even his mother offers him little comfort. The other reindeer make fun, laugh at him and won't allow him to play with them just because he looks different. They are so nasty to him that he runs away but later, on X-Mas eve, he returns home to find all the ones that initially treated him like sh!t are in a huge bind because of the weather. Then they notice how bright Rudoulph's nose is, which gives Santa the bright idea that Rudoulph's nose could guide his sleigh through the snow storm. Now that Santa realize he could use him, Rudoulph is welcomed back with open arms. Poor Rudoulph's self esteem is so low from being treated like an outcast and made fun of his whole life that he's happy to allow them to use him just to be accepted and liked. Really? Who wrote this? What message are they trying to send? Its okay to allow people to ostracize and mistreat you if you are different and let them use you to do the hard work while they take all the credit?

Well, if we did it YOUR way, there'd be no story to tell. Did you ever think that? You must be from Generation Moron.

This is exactly how I feel. I saw it once when I was 5 and vowed not only never to see it again, but wouldn't let my kids see it either. I think it was so horrible how Rudolph was treated. I remember crying to my bio Dad and asked why are they so mean to Rudolph. It wasn't his fault for being different, and even if it was, being mean isn't the answer. My bio Dad then hugged me and said that he agreed with me, and even in real life animals and people are this way. He told me about chickens and the expression "the pecking order" and what it meant. I was horrified. I was teased a lot from the age of 5-college, but I remembered that being being mean to another is not the answer.

Exactly. They treated Rudouph so badly, until they needed him. As a child, this movie made me feel like Santa was an ass hole.

I woke up this way...

Oh jesus......... people are complaining about Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer now?

Don't bother to stop the world, I'll just jump off by myself.

One hundred percent agree they would of never of apologized or accepted him if they didn’t need him. Rudolph should of told Santa to F off.

All that stuff the OP brought up is what makes it an interesting story. If everybody was kind and inclusive it would be boring. The whole point is for Rudolph to prove he is capable and make all the assholes realize how wrong they were.

Not true.

That's the song's timeline, in the TV movie, everyone is ashamed of the way they treated Rudolph including Santa who apologizes to him. It was after they were all good with each other when Santa realized that Rudolph could save the day.
