Was the makeup on the actors green?
I seen a lot of pictures where promos in color where you most of the actors in green hue. Was that the original color?

shareQuote from Al Lewis:
We weren't exactly green. Kind of a faded, shipwrecked gray. Not a distinctive color. It looked like a ship with too many barnacles on it.
They had made up some gray greasepaint, but after we actually started doing the show, the greasepaint would crack and then break off about two hours into the day.
Grandpa's, Lily's, and Eddie's make-up were the gray. Herman's was a pale green.
Yippee: "For king!"
Yappee: "For country!"
Yahooie: "And, most of all, for 10ยข an hour!"
And that is just one demonstration of why Al Lewis was awesome.

The Munsters' makeup was a blueish white although I've seen photos where Herman is green, I suspect he was color-tinted in the photo later by the publicity department or perhaps wore green makeup just for some color photo sessions. Not sure but I think a few episodes refer to the Munsters as being green but they couldn't use green though for the makeup as that would have been too dark in black-and-white.
There are a number of real color photos of the Munsters from the era on the series on the net here's one http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2859636736/tt0057773 .
i saw the opening titles/credits were green once. Don't remember when it was probably early to mid 2000's.
