And then they were marooned for 15 years with a professor so smart he could put two cocoanuts together and make a nuclear reactor...but he couldn’t fix a a two foot hole in BOAT.

There needs to be a hyper-realistic, dark and gritty remake for today's sensibilities, which does not include such fanciful and unrealistic stuff.

I saw the show when it was first on in the mid '60s, and believe me, everybody had all the same questions and criticisms then as now.
