Miss Castaway episode

Since Gilligan voted for a 4th contestant, wouldn't it still be tied, he actually called her Miss Castaway, also, who really should've won

reply

the last part of your question really should be left unsaid and unvoted on.

ad no, in order for something to be tied, the score has to be even. he was the only one voting so how can you get an even scores with one person voting? he voted for Gladys because a: she was actually [at least as far as the an tell] born on the island as none of the women were,

and b: if Mrs Howell won: both ginger and Maryanne would insist it was wrong [at least ginger would] and everyone would accuse Gilligan of taking a bribe and mr Howell giving a bribe [which is his track record].

if ginger won, mr Howell would have had a fit and both he and the professor would have accused Gilligan of 'voting for the obvious'. they would have also accused skipper of coercing Gilligan to vote for ginger by either threats or 'little buddy' status.

If Mary anne won Ginger would have been more butthurt than before [this all started because she wasn't on the mainland to win that contest that was announced on the radio] and both mr Howell and skipper would have accused Gilligan of giving a mercy vote.

Oh God. Fortune vomits on my eiderdown once more.

My impression was that the other men still had a vote, but Gilligan's would be the deciding vote. It wasn't necessary for the The Professor, Mr. Howell and the Skipper to "judge" the contest, because they had made their selection before hand.

The reason it is not a four-way tie, is because Ginger, Mary Ann and Mrs. Howell were disqualified because they were not native to the island.

Since we're watching this episode: when Gilligan gets tripped with that stick he lands on the sand and tries to cover up a cigarette butt with his hand.
