The "making nails" episode


I know it was just a show with no logic, but why didn't they just dismantle the flying bridge, or inside the cabin and use the dozens of nails from it to repair the boat.
AND, how the hell did the whole boat fly apart from Gilligan's glue? If it were that badly constructed, it never could have floated in the first place.
