Gilligan's turtle not in the cast credits?

Hi,
I was looking at the long list of cast credits of everyone and every animals that appeared on this show. Some like the lion only appeared once and is listed and mentioned as uncredited.
But I couldn't find Gilligan's pet turtle. It may have appeared in two episodes - I know I remember it in at least one. And one time it had a race with another turtle and I remember it being fed lettuce or spinach.
Wasn't it named Hernan?

Perhaps someone can gather the information for this turtle and add it to the cast credits.

The one that raced for Skipper was named Rex after one of Gilligan's friends, but Howell's turtle didn't have a name. The two at the end of the Zsa Zsa episode were named Herman and Hilda. A fourth one ended up in Skipper's shirt at the end of Ghost a Go-Go but its name wasn't mentioned (maybe it was one of the others).

I don't think they were Gilligan's pets, only because they were never seen other than in those episodes. Skipper even told G to get rid of the one and get another because it kept losing. I think they just grabbed a couple of turtles to race, and the other two Gilligan was going to bring back to civilization as souvenirs.

*update -- you'll be happy to know they're in the cast credits now 

I noticed that the giant spider was never credited too.

I don't think the giant spider was real. At least I certainly hope it wasn't lol

I think that back in the 60's the SAG rules were that screen credit was given only if it was a speaking part with a specified number of lines. So I guess the spider and turtle didn't qualify.

The large spider wasn't real. It was an inanimate object.
Whether it spoke or not, inanimate objects are never credited. The only time it could be credited is when an actor made voices or sounds from the object or made it move by being inside it. In which case it would be that actor who's credited not the in inanimate object.
Perhaps the similar way that robot had its actor credited.

That large spider wasn't real at all.

Spider was Jonas Prohaska, aka the giant apes and other weird giant creatures. (But NOT any chimp or any other monkey, they were REAL.)

Yeah, the chimp in Voodoo Something to Me was cute. So was Igor in Ring Around Gilligan and the one in Bang Bang Bang
