TIMES WHEN THE PROFESSOR WENT

full retard:

When he decided the island was rapidly sinking based on a bamboo chute in the lagoon.

Growing oranges from seeds which would take years for Vitamin C needed immediately

reply

As far as the island sinking, he probably was listening to Al Gore, after all that artic ice melted and before he and "Love Story" Tipper invented the internet.

The oranges, it'd take a bit more than a year without citrus to have any effect on your body like it was having on the skipper.

I'm a dirty old man and I'm going to be one until I'm a dead old man

reply

The orange seeds, definitely. Plus, tiki torches on poles five to six feet above ground would not keep seeds in the ground warm. Covering the ground with a sheet, tarp, or blanket would. BUT - they're in the tropics and below the freeze line. How did it suddenly get so cold?

reply

not ever taking either of the girls in one of those caves and give them a good rodgering. preferably Mary Anne.

scouting the island for apparently more than 15 years and NEVER FOUND THAT FVKING PLANE that rescued them in the second movie. wut????

not realizing that grapefruits among other fruits growing in abundance on the island are citrus fruits!

The time when the professor constructed a pontoon boat for Mr. Howell to steer to Hawaii so he can track down the imposter and then send back help and the boat promptly sinks.

When he mistook a harmless fly for a deadly one & they thought they had a day to live.

I think his worst offense was in season 2 Castaway Pictures Presents.

Where he was adamant about that horrible film they made being a legit way to get them rescued. Mrs. Howell mentions how it's hard to follow the plot, and the professor stupidly says the plot doesn't matter. If you want people to understand what they're seeing, the plot is damn important. But I guess that falls on all of them. I just put it more on the professor, because everyone was not fond of the film and talked about how horrible it was, yet the professor says all the complaints don't matter, it'll get them rescued.

Or how Gilligan gets blamed for the professor's stupidity in the first season. It's the episode where Gilligan has to eat more, and skipper has to diet. Gilligan is sitting at the table eating his pies, and the professor puts his chemical mix, that's in a bowl -with a spoon in it, right on the table with all the food Gilligan is eating. Then everyone gets mad at Gilligan, rather than the professor stupidly putting it there in the first place.

When he read those stone tablets backwards saying they're a way to get off the island.

reply

hows about not reversing the tablet readings and do the directions backwards?

And to add insult to injury, when Gilligan offers to help the Skipper move the raft, the Professor, after laying his bowl on the table tells Gillgan: "You just keep eating." Lucky for Gilligan that concoction wasn't toxic.

Jesus is the Son of God and my Lord and savior. Pretty cool.

The whole tablet episode made no sense really. How can there be a secret way off an island? An unknown landbridge only ancient natives knew about? You need to either have a seaworthy boat or the ability to build one and the castaways had neither.

reply

The whole time on the island he behaves like a eunuch not even seemingly aware that Mary Ann and Ginger are even female then when Erica Tiffany Smith shows up all a a sudden he turns into a love lorn school boy and ignoring their best chance at rescue.

reply

I really don't think he had any idea of ETS's intentions. His proposal was not one of marriage, but of partnership -- her money will fund his inventions/crap.

but I totally agree with you that he didn't even think of taking either mary ann or ginger under the waterfall for boomboom.
