On pins and needles over here. It looked amazing on the MGMHD broadcast.
It's weird to see screenshots of the movie that look so clear. I've only ever watched the bargain bin releases where the picture is so blurry that you can just barely tell what's going on. Maybe someday I should get a new copy and watch it the way it was meant to be seen.
sharewell i still prefer the version that has horror movie hostess elvira hosting it. this movie looks mightier than other corman flicks from this time, some scene changing looks like that of a tv movie though, unusual for it to be in colour, and neat animation at the opening credits, speaking of animation, the castle from the outside looks like a painting, what eerie soundtrack suitable for a horror, when gustaf first appears through the door it looks like a second nicholson, boris karloff has a great voice and screen presence, to think he just grunts in his most famous role (frankenstein's monster). dick miller seem to be a re occurring actor in roger corman movies. this movie doesn't have any gross scenes in it until 50 minutes in where the guy gets attacked by the bird. when nicholson points the gun at the old lady and tells her to call off the bird was unintentionally funny.
