All previous efforts to remake/reboot The Pink Panther-series were utter hatchet-jobs, but since I saw Sacha Baron Cohen in Hugo I'd like to see him as Clouseau in a future endavour!!! I miss the beloved character too much and the originals starring Peter Sellers are a bit dated although I still find 'm hilarious.
I don't know what's interesting about it. You've clearly misunderstood.
How about another film in the series in the spirit of the original...which worked just fine.
I said this. Right there I said that I'd prefer another film in the series that was in the spirit of the original.
Star Trek Into Darkness (what does that even mean) isn't in the spirit of the original. Star Trek 4 is. If I'm calling for something in the spirit of the original, wouldn't that lead one to believe that I prefer the ORIGINAL?
That said, I'm entitled to my opinion. So I don't know why you're sarcastically saying "interesting". It's my opinion. And if it WERE my opinion that Star Trek Into Darkness was better than Star Trek 4, that would be my business. Not yours.
As to the OP, when was The Pink Panther "rebooted"? It wasn't. Steve Martin did a couple of more movies that were abominations to all beings that walk on 2 legs. But the character wasn't reinvented or rethought. It was same-sies.

Ok buddy first point, I'm willing to admit where I messed up, I misunderstood what you meant. I think the Man of Steel vs Superman Returns comment is what caused the confusion since most anyone who dislikes the film still likes it better than Returns. But I'll admit I messed up there.
Second point, the "interesting". What makes you so sure that was sarcasm, there's nothing to indicate that's what was meant. YOU assumed that based on... Nothing. You couldn't hear my voice so you're getting upset about something you assuming in your head, doesn't sound like the best policy. There was no sarcasm there, I was legitimately interested why you might of thought that way because that's not a typical opinion and well thought out opinions are always interesting.
Third point, yes you do indeed have a right to your opinion. But here's some free information, EVERYONE has a right to their opinion which means anyone can have an opinion on your opinion and not everyone going to agree with you. So calm down, no one was attacking you. And as far as what business is it of mine, it isn't, however you put it up on a public website for anyone to see, if you can't stand someone holding a different opinion then don't put it on a public website like this.
One more piece of free advice, if you get this worked up over a comment like mine, you may want to stay away from the comment section on YouTube cause they'll eat you alive.
I don't think we NEED a remake/reboot, I agree with Roger Ebert that one of the reasons the other films were "utter hatchet-jobs" is because unlike James Bond and Batman as characters are bigger than any one of the actors (though Sean Connery comes the closest being an icon himself) but Peter Sellers is bigger than Inspector Clouseau. Meaning what Peter Sellers brought to the character is immeasurable.
However with all that said, I agree that Sacha Baron Cohen is the only person who could POSSIBLY be acceptable in the part but a big part would depend on who was the director as the original series proved Peter Sellers and Blake Edwards couldn't do it by themselves. Their collaboration was what created the comedic genius of those films.
