Which version is better?
Don't feel like both, which is the better version on the criterion disc?

The italian version on disc one is better.
The american version cuts 24 minutes out of the plot, while leaving the extremely long(45 minutes long) ball sequence completely intact. I think that if I had to cut 24 minutes, I would have cut it from the ballroom dancing, and not the plot.
So watch the italian for more plot, go cook dinner when they start dancing, and you'll be able to come back and watch the ending while you eat.
I always watch the italian version which I love, I never saw the american one.
I like the ball sequence.
