First time viewer: English or Italian? (I know there are post similar)

Okay but it didn't answer my question....

I am very much wanting to view this film but some things I've read say the Italian version is very jumpy and doesn't make much sense. But that the English version is a cut down version which spells some things out but takes out many pivotal moments....

which better to watch? Which lets the full story be told without messing with anything, I'm a fan of foreign films and wouldn't mind watching the Italian version only if it is the best of two which tells the story....!

In fact, Claudia has been dubbed for the Italian version because she played the character of Angelica in French, her mother tongue. She says that in those times she used to speak Italian with a "heavy" French accent.
