Those dogs are gorgeous, especially the Tibetan Mastiff. I'm a bit put off by the fact that some of them were bred for dogfights, but I love dogs that look big enough to ride.

It is for sure a great dane. I have had one myself identical to the one in the movie.
shareI'm quite sure it's a Great Dane. In no way does the dog in the movie resemble a Mastiff. The Great Dane is slim, long, and tall. The Mastiff is stocky and bulky with shorter stature than the Great Dane, as well as blessed with a larger head frame.
