I read this movie made the Guinness Book Of Records for the most costume changes. Liz Taylor seemed to be in a new outfit for every scene. Makes me wonder if the real Cleo had a behemoth of a wardrobe like depicted in this film?
The more I study it, the greater the puzzle becomes.

It did have the most changes until the film Star! Was made in that Julie Andrews has something like 130 changes of costume.
shareConsidering the fact the original cut of the film was either 6 hours long or 5 hours and 20 minutes (Mankiewicz's reported director's cut), Liz Taylor probably had even wore more costumes and suits than was actually seen in the final Roadshow 4 hour version (and even thats saying a lot even!) that survives.

Liz's costumes were eye-poppingly gorgeous, but c'mon?it's Egypt where the weather is almost always unbearable. Who would dress like that in such a climate?
