Bodega Bay Tide

There is a posting under continuity "goofs" that states, and I quote: "Melanie is able to deliver the lovebirds by piloting a boat to the Brenner's dock. At Cathy's party the next day, we see from the top of the hill that the dock is not accessible by water (the water level is too low)". Here are the problems with this posting: First of all, consider the name of the town, Bodega Bay. The "bay" part of that name means that the body of water here is an ocean bay. Being part of the pacific ocean means that the bay is prone to changes in the tide. So between the time that Melanie delivered the lovebirds by boat and Cathy's party the next day the tide has simply gone out. Secondly, the only reason that Melanie used a boat to deliver the lovebirds was because she wanted her gift of the lovebirds to be a surprise. (She used the boat as a stealth tactic). When she went to Cathy's party the next day everyone knew she was coming so there was no reason for her arrival at the party to be a surprise, therefore no need to use a boat anyway so she simply drove her car to the birthday party. This is not really a goof at all, in fact the tide going out by the next day is actually proper continuity.
