Is that Dostoevsky?


From 25:03 to 25:05 there is a portrait of a middle-aged man who looks like Dostoevsky in the elevator. And at 25:23 the man mentioned about a Russian. So I wonder whether Fellini intended to signify this great Russian novelist here. Are there any suggestions or references?

I can agree. And considering the existentialist theme beyond the movie and beyond Dostoievsky's work, we can easily see a connection there.

The monks in 8 1/2 are discussing church and socialism, Dostoyevsky is talking about that same thing in Brothers Karamazov.
