The 'Laugh Track'

Having never seen the show before I just watched a couple of episodes and while the show is cute enough, the laugh track drove me crazy. It was like a drunk guy in the booth pressed the button each time he reached for his bottle of bourbon, there were laughs when there shouldn't be and nothing where there should. Anyone else notice this?

Perhaps I should just watch it with a bottle of bourbon?

You must be pretty young. Unless a show was done in front of a "live audience" most sitcoms had canned laughter. They made a big deal of it when "M*A*S*H" stopped using it.

I think it's really goofy.
