pamela brittons contribution to my favorite martian

in most of the things i have read about this show, few have given ms.britton the credit she deserves for helping make mfm the success it was.watching the dvds of seasons 1&2,i have fallen in love with her charm, humor, talent, and sweet face.there is a scene in "if its tuesday, this must be belgium",probably an improvised scene, showing her skippng rope while the tour bus she is on is broken down.i think that scene shows her to have been a woman with the soul of a child.if anyone out there has any more info about her, beyond theimdb bio,i love to know about it.if you want to,contact me at [email protected] i heard she was a kind person much beloved on the set of mfm.she left us far too soon.

*was a wonderful singer watch the episode "Go west Young Martian" she sings a all to breif number.

*played golf in palm springs with Bixby.

*almost every weekend Pamela and Bixby and MFM composer George Greeley would journey to Palm springs for a weekend of music and golf.

Thank you both for your posts. She was a lovely woman on TV and I'm glad to hear that, for the most part, it was not an act.

Miss Britton was also Edmond O'Brien's co-star and love interest in "D.O.A."

Wow! -- I haven't seen that title in ages! I'll have to dig it out now!

Thanks for that, vinidici.

When the show first came out, I was too young to really appreciate Pamela. Fast forward some ten years while watching the reruns, and I was amazed at how incredibly attractive and sexy she was- even at 40 plus. Of course, I was still way too young for her even then. Now, almost fifty years later, I'm equally fascinated by her beauty and innocence but, alas, I'm too old for her.

So, to sum it up in legal terminology: Get lost, you bum.

I loved this show when I was a small child, because the three leads seemed like trustworthy adults. The plots, however, were infuriatingly stupid. It always frustrated me that most of them could be resolved if they just told Mrs. Brown that Martin was a martian. She seemed like she could handle it. To this day I think Walston projected rationality more effectively than Mr. Spock, whose suppression of emotion seemed highly illogical even to a 6 year old. From what I have learned since, it seems that my radar was working, in spite of the limitations of the writing staff.

Her sex appeal and the rivalry between the cop and Martin were a big plot driver, so someone noticed she was an attractive woman over 40, even in the '60's.

Or, to put it in modern terms, she was a blue-chip MILF.
