Martin's powers

I have not seen every episode of this show. Could anyone tell me how Martin's powers rank with Jeannie's or Samantha's powers.

reply

His powers were often driven by the plot lines and there were times when he got himself and Tim out of trouble with certain powers and in other stories instead of using those same powers used some other power or "trickery" where it would seem obvious to use powers he had already been shown to have. The powers chosen were to keep tension for the plot.

P.S. It was a fun show with some cringe worthy, corny moments meant as much for children as for adults. As a fan of more reality, extrapolation based Science Fiction stories I still enjoyed this show.

Old post and I haven't watched this show in decades. But I think Samantha and Jeannie's powers were far greater and more all-encompassing. They could could rearrange matter, time, and energy on just a whim. I don't recall Uncle Martin's powers being nearly that great.

Nothing like a witch or a genie. Martin got the most mileage out of telepathy, invisibility, and levitation.

Did he have that problem where if he was fatigued and over-used, his ability would diminish or disappear?
That's always an easy plot device.

reply

Oh yeah, something or other was always making one of his powers go wonky. :-)
