These are 2 of my favorite series of all time and I have noticed similarities between the two.
Has anyone else?
Also - both series did a lot of location shooting in the shabby parts of downtown Los Angeles. Has anyone noticed any locations that appear in both series?
I've often remarked on this to my nearest and dearest. I'm pretty sure I started a similar thread, but when I went to find it...there was no page 2 of comments! All the "24" seasons are a jumble in my aging mind, but the one when Jack was working on an oil rig (maybe) and he was living with a woman and her son, was when I started calling him "Richard".
Yes, sir, I'm going to do nothing like she's never been done before!
I said to myself at that early moment in S5, "This is so FUGITIVE!" That moment when he looks up from under his safety helmet. I'm surprised he wasn't called 'Jim Lincoln' or a similar RK alias.
He also has a moment where he is walking down the railroad tracks at sundown. Pure Fugitive.
Were there any follow up comments to your original post?
I posted this same post on the IMDB "24" forum and it died immediately. I think the problem is that many of the "24" posters are teens and 20s - too young to have seen the original show and even too young to have seen the cable revival.
In one of the commentaries on the "24" DVDs, one of the producers or directors or writers was talking about something in the show and he called it a "Richard Kimble moment". The other commenter had to explain what "The Fugitive" was.
And there is a moment where Jack Bauer is wearing a suit w/o a tie and running from an assassin at night. Very Fugitive - the suit.
Oh, well! :)
