In the trivia section Roy Huggins states that The Fugitive was not inspired by the real life murder trial of Dr.Sam Sheppard. Huggins says he wasn't even aware of the Sheppard case.That trial was huge all across the nation at that time not unlike the OJ trial.Seems hard to believe that Huggins did not know about it all.
