What happens to the one-armed man at the end?
He is shot by Gerard from the ground while he is up on the tower, and falls to earth, dead.

Actually at the VERY end, Dr. Kimble and his girl friend are walking down the sidewalk when two cops get out of a police car. Dr. Kimble reacts, freezing in his tracks. The cops walk toward the courthouse. Dr. Kimble and his girl friend relax, smile and walk off while the narrator (William Conrad) says, "Tuesday September 5, the day the running stopped."
