Werewolves?

Other than the NuWho story Tooth And Claw and the Big Finish Classic Who story Loups Garoux, are there any other stories that feature werewolves? Anything from the comic book universes or novels?

I guess The Dogs Of Doom from a Doctor Who comic strip could be classified as werewolves.

The Greatest Show In The Galaxy? (The one in which a werewolf savages a man to death, although he doesn't even have torn clothes, let alone wounds.)

A spinoff novel called Kursaal. Which was very poor.

There was at least one comic but I can't remember its name.

I saw The Greatest Show In The Galaxy, but it was in 1992 (In October, I think.) and I don't remember a werewolf in that one. In fact, all I think I remember from that story was a giant robot and McCoy doing some kind of wobble on his feet thing.

I saw in on a tape because it was included with Remembrance Of The Daleks and Silver Nemesis. Along with The Happiness Patrol. It was stories taped from the New Jersey Network in omnibus format. The stories were recorded at EP so multiple stories fit on one tape.

I also borrowed a tape of the first 3 stories from Doctor Who at the same time from the same person. I got that tape to see The Daleks. The first story was an added bonus, and The Edge Of Destruction turned out to be a favorite of mine after I saw it.

Well, there quite definitely was one whether you remember it or not.

Well, it has been almost 25 years since I saw a story I only saw once. :)

reply

Sure, it's just that the wording of your post made it sound as if you didn't think it counted because you couldn't remember it, but I'm guessing that wasn't your intention.

reply

Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah, that wasn't my intention. That's the problem with cold text. It can't convey context very well. I was just saying I didn't remember that because I hadn't seen the story in almost 25 years. And I'd only seen it once. So, I just didn't remember it was there.

reply

No probs.

I haven't seen it for a while myself, but remember it as being not great - to put it mildly!

reply

Yeah, nothing really memorable to me, either. As I said, all I recall from the story is some giant robot and McCoy doing some kind of swaying dance while his feet remained firmly planted to the ground.

The creatures in "Inferno" may not have been werewolves, but they sure looked like them.

Sue Perryman, AKA The Wife in Space, refers to them as "werewolves" in her comments: http://wifeinspace.com/2011/11/inferno/

reply

Well, they may have looked like werewolves in the Paul Naschy cheap make up tradition. But, I wouldn't call them werewolves. They were some kind of heat monsters. Nothing to do with traditional moon transformations, etc. Plus, I believe the monsters in Inferno didn't change back to human form. It was a one way trip.

No I think that was a dog creature.

reply

It may not have been a werewolf by the traditional sense since it never transforms between states, but I believe that king guy referred it by the term wolf.

The Garm in Terminus looks like a were-terrier.
