Vampires?? Love it!
Not loving a stowaway named Adric. This was a bad idea.
The story line was great, I enjoyed the 3 lords, the "tower" and loved how that turned into, first, a space ship, then, a large metal spike... How creative, I thought
There were a few scary moments for Romana in this one, and escaping by a thread too
I wondered if Adric really was a turncoat, when he said that being undead might be better than being just dead.... Of course, me being a big fan of Anne Rice's Lestat....
So this is 2 of the 3 part ESpace episodes... OK

One of my Top 10 stories, the script is terrific and the performances are top notch especially Emrys James as Aukon. The Great Vampire is a bit of a let down, not so much the final scene but the image on the scanner which looks like it was bought in a Joke Shop!

As for Adric I think he was just naive and stupid, he was playing along with the Lords but he had no idea of their true power.

When JNT was still allowing previous Who writers to contribute to the show.
There was also some fun stuff in the commentary about just how 'beardy' all the villager characters were.

I would say, this is a good show, but it's one of the ones where I actually found the novelisation effectively frightening and the show didn't quite live up to it.
