Easy TV recommendations for fans of Classic Who?

Not just any sci fi show, but ones where you can trace recognizable similar parts, like Blake's 7.

I'll mention the show that made me reinterested in Doctor Who, and gave me my profile pic: Farscape. It evolves from sort of a Flash Gordon copycat in the first few episodes to something really imaginative, surreal, and charming later on. It has a lot of the things that drew me to 70s/early 80s Who, like a colorful rotating cast of characters, Adams-esque irreverent humor, bizarre nonhuman aliens, and some often gruesome gothic horror (the episode DNA Mad Scientist seems to take points from Brain of Morbius).

Some of the Farscape episodes that deal with a planet's medieval-esque aristocracy remind me a lot of Classic Who's lavish alien costume drama stories, like Robots of Death and Keeper of Traken. The show also had puppets playing a few main characters, like it managed to succeed where the classic series had stumbled with Kamelion. I could probably think of more similarities if asked.

If you must blink, do it now.

Two recommendations; Firstly THE OMEGA FACTOR with Louise Jameson. This might be the show she left Dr Who for.
A ten part series with an series long arc, about DEPT 7 , a government dept investigating psychic phenomenon, set in Edinburgh which is a nice change. Mary Whitehouse called the show disgusting, bless her ,disturbing possibly . I'd give this show 7/10 .
Now a 9/10 show is DOOMWATCH created by Gerry Davis and Kit Pedlar, the box set contains 24 episodes, 14 are missing thanks to BBC stupidity.
This is a terrific series made early seventies about a dept called Doomwatch which investigates possible threats to the public coming from science or multinational companies. Its difficult to pin down exactly the scope of Doomeatch , it's very broad.
Example; kids in a particular area showing increased violence, why? Doomwatch investigate, could be something in the water, or hormones introduced in salmon farm causing health problems Doomwatch investigate.
It was so impressive a series that in real life Doomwatch agencies were set up in some countries as a result of possible worries in technology that Doomwatch pointed out.
First series has Robert Powell, box set contains the untransmitted story "Sex and Violence" , I've not reached that episode yet but I've enjoyed what I've seen so far.
