Vengeance On Varos

OH, I must day, this is very familiar, The citizens voting whether or not the Governor lives
The Doctor needs Zeiton 7 to recharge the TARDIS, and this planet, has it to spare, or sell it seems. One of the nastiest looking villains although not very scary as it sits like a lump with a tail/
Poor Peri is lost trying to keep up, 007's son isn't much help as the fair haired lad there to assist.
This story line is pretty sad, and the Doctor does not help matters with his new personality, not very likable at all. I keep wondering why Peri stays
Sorry this was such a downer, I rather lost interest in a bit of it

Terrible episode. I do like the idea of elected officials potentially being put down based on political decisions :p

My favorite of all of Colin's stories, closely followed by Revelation of the Daleks, which is another 'downer', so you probably won't like that one either...

Another that tends to polarise opinions!

I like it, it arguably predicts Reality TV, "Does he live? Does he die? YOU DECIDE!!" :)

Balotelli...Aguerooooo! I swear you will never see anything like this ever again!

It was one of my favorite episodes of Colin's! He had few if any others I liked of his tenure! The attempted strangling of Peri probably colored my opinion of him! I really couldn't stand the full arc season of "Trial Of A Time Lord!"   

Update: I did love "The Two Doctors," but ran a little long! It was nice seeing Jacqueline Pearce as Chessene after loving her performance in all 4 seasons of "Blake's 7!" Any multi-Doctor episode is good IMO so seeing Troughton for the 1st time since "The Five Doctors" was a treat! 

I love this story. The commentary on government, entertainment, and society is very well done. A realistic concept for a villain played with relish from Nabil Shaban. Even the whole election is a delicious reminder of the thirst of the voting public for change for change's sake. Forgoing the actual realities of government office for easy solutions with your vote. If that was all lost on you, I am sorry you can't appreciate one of the highlights of the Colin Baker era.

Yeah, I prefer them having created their own 'games' and whatnot rather than resorting to versions of shows that were going to instantly recognisable to a contemporary audience (Russell)

True, as much as I enjoyed some of those in Bad Wolf, they did feel cheap referencing(then) current game shows.

The way Varos did the games, it was Doctor Who Satirizing itself. The endless corridors, the cliffhanger endings, etc..

It's stuff like this that made me really and still hate the RTD era.
