Are there any sales figures released by the BBC yet for the DVD and downloads of The Power Of The Daleks reconstruction, black and white and color? I'm curious if they were strong, which would mean it might warrant other reconstructions to be undertaken.
shareWell, if it is any indication, based on pre-orders for the R1 DVD which doesn't come out until the 31st of January, The Power Of The Daleks is #873 in sales in the category of Movies & TV and #578 in Movies & TV > DVD.
I'm no expert, but those don't seem to be stellar sales. However, for the DVD market, which is slowly dying, and the market for a BBC DVD in America, maybe these are good sales? I don't know.
Well, I just ordered my copy of 'The Power of the Daleks' from Amazon Canada, so that's one more sold. 😀
But I assume what the BBC will be looking at most closely is the UK sales numbers.
I am ordering my copy tomorrow, when Amazon.com officially starts selling it. It's a Christmas gift for me from my mother, but, I will, of course, open it early. To watch it and test that it isn't damaged. Then, afterwards, it will be wrapped up for December.
So, that's one more copy they'll have sold. Who North America had like 45 copies for pre-order and were down to like 11 earlier today. So, that's a few more sales. And they appear to have sold out, entirely, of their like 15 sets of the Power DVD and the Evil Of The Daleks Doctor 2 pack figure set.
I don't know the numbers, but there are 140 reviews on amazon.co.uk for it, 99 of them 5 star.
