Randolph Scott's Character *SPOILER*

ok.. why does Scott get bitched big time in this movie. McCrea bitched slapped him and later told him to STFU and he just stood there. Hilarious!

Last films seen....Revolutionary Road - 9/10, Valkyrie - 8/10, Gran Torino - 9/10

Having a large caliber Single Action Colt revolver (.44-40 or .45 Colt, I'd guess) shoved into his gut might have had something to do with Scott's "just standing there". You tyro.

The gun and horse he took from the dead guy (LQ Jones) looked a lot like his regular mount from the movies as well as his six gun..... whatchthink?

reply

Can't comment on the horse, but the sixgun he takes from L.Q. Jones' body is an ivory-gripped Remington 1875 revolver with a cut-down barrel. Scott usually carried a Colt Single Action Army revolver in his westerns.

Was Randy wearing his pinky ring as he so often did in his westerns?

Let it be unsaid: insignificance is the locus of true increpation.

It was in reference to what Joel said earlier, about how he was beat up because he knew the other guy was right.

These were men of the times. They had a character that apparently the modern day kids have never seen on internet. These were "outdoorsmen", closer to Nature than almost any person you'll meet today.

Scott took it, because he knew he was wrong. It was that simple. The earlier dialog should've told you...hint...hint...hint. What does Peckinpah have to do? B..slap everyone like Joel did Randolph?

You've got spunk! I hate spunk!

Good response. Did OP really miss the set-up or did he just want to say "bitch-slap?"

The high quality of this lasting movie and the esteemed talent involved is worthy of much more intelligent, respectful discussion than the vacuous frivolity of the OP's question.

It's a wonderful scene by two Western legends. I've never seen McCrea and Scott so grim looking. Great acting.
