Hi everyone. I am in ninth grade and I got the part of Annie in The Miracle Worker. I have known about Helen Keller and he story and I am really honored to play Annie. It is such a powerful role, as is Helen's. It has so much emotion, I hope I do a good job.
I hope you do good as well; I just got the part of the Doctor and the part of Mr. Anagnos(you will probably notice their parts are thankfully lengthened in the play).
Here's a curious question, are you guys using anything for music(for the intermission, those few moments before the show starts, etc.)?
Ummm I'm not sure yet because we just did blocking but my director said there is going to be music in the introduction you know right before the doctor scene but I don't know what music. You got both parts? We are using two different people for those roles.
Hey kids, I also got the role of Annie Sullivan in my high school three act play. I'm a senior this year, and originally hearing about the play being all about Helen Keller, I was seriously considering not auditiong. However, my awesome director encouraged me to audition, and here I am! We opened last weekend, to EXCELLENT reviews (everyone underestimated us)... so millions of bruises (fight scene) later, and an Irish accent learned a week before opening night, we are finishing the run of the show this weekend.
WOW! You kids and your excitement about acting in this play are inspirational to me. I wish I could see your productions! I first saw this film when I was a teenager (a long time ago!) and was very moved. I hope you also touch those that see you perform. Best of luck to you and "break a leg"!
We're doing The Miracle Worker for the spring play at my school, and I don't know much about it.. How many parts are there for guys? I've done 4 comedy shows, and never anything that seems as serious as the Helen Keller story? Did you like being in it?
Dear Freshman, I remember my freshman experience on "The Miracle Worker". I wasn't in the show, so much as I was doing crew work (I'd missed auditions during the summer). But still, I'd found it such a moving experience. Everyone on our cast became a family, and there was this ether of magic that seemed to follow the entire technical week. I wish you, not only a marvellous performance, but a bevy of magical memories as well.
I just got cast for this play today! I get to play Kate Kelller. (I'm an upperclassman.) I've read the play and seen this movie, and it's a really good piece. I'm glad that there are other high schoolers out there producing it!
We are also doing the Miracle Worker for our play too. Ours is in May. I got the part of Captain Keller. I am so excited to be doing this! I hope you do a good job playing Annie. She really is a tough role to play.
Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription.. is more cowbell!- Christopher Walken
i am kate in our spring play too. it's weird, but my favorite parts are the parts with jimmie. i love the part when he stands up to keller! i also like the part where he basically says that he hates me, just because he does it really well and i'm able to act off of him. (he doesn't hate me in real life, lol.) i love the part of kate.
Ah, yes, The Miracle Worker. I was Percy. It was my first play in High School. Next Year Ill be a senior and I did this play in somphore year. Its truly a wonderful play.
Martha is the sister of Percy. Theyre both slaves. Theyre parts arent HUGE. But I made the best outta my part. And out parts were also pretty memorable because me, the girl who played martha, and our mom Viney, are all white! So people would ask me, hey...werent you supposed to be black in the play? But theyre fun parts. You have to be attacked by Helen Keller with a pair of scissors...if thats okay with you :P. Have fun with that play. Its so much fun! Break a Leg.
