Box Office Success?
Can anyone tell me how much money this film made, or if Anne Bancroft (loved her!!!) made much money in terms of salary? I love this film and hope it did well.

TMW was a moderate box office success. Originally the studio wanted Liz Taylor to portray Annie and they were even willing to expend a large budget of $5 million. But Arthur Penn demanded Bancroft who was lesser known but played the role for years on Broadway. So with Bancroft, the budget was lowered to $500,000. There is no available information of the box office gross. But the studio did earn $2.5 million in theatrical rentals (their share of the box office gross), minus the $500,000 budget, they had a profit of $2 million. Based on the rental figure, the gross would be around $5 million to $6.25 million in North America alone. Worldwide gross is unknown.
