Inga Swenson!

Talk about melodramatic performance! She is hilariously over the top in this.

Oh your so wrong ...I thought she was perfect for the part

her love for her daughter was so strong she gave a bravua oerformance...

reply

Give me a break. About the only time she is "over-the-top" is when her blind and deaf daughter finally makes the connection between words and things. A miracle, indeed, which requires nothing less than being dramatically over-joyed.

I think her performance is very heartfelt.
Basically she's the mother of an 'animal' that everyone wants to give up on and she's trying desperately to find answers.
Finally she does with the right teacher even if she is not comfortably certain about her methods.

The OP is likely referring to the first scene with "she--can't-- hear-- you"! "
