Does anyone out in Cyber space know where I can get the video. It was such a limited release that I cannot find it in all the usual places.

Hello... I Found and bought a VHS COPY of FREUD from "Roberts's Hard to Find Videos" from of all places, Saskatoon, in Canada - He has a website. But, be warned.. it took a long time to arrive. It cost 25 dollars - not worth it, except for Larry Parks' performance. Nat in New York

Freud was screened yesterday at the Finnish Film Archive in Helsinki. We had a fairly good print on loan from Sweden (subtitled). Unfortunately, it was the short version (120 min). Huston's original cut was 140 minutes. However, J.-P. Sartre's original treatment/manuscript was 516 pages long, which would have meant an 8-hour movie.

The movie was quite stiff to my taste, but Monty Clift gave a terrific performance - I guess Freud himself wasn't that agonized. The plot had little to do with history. The dream sequences, however, almost outdid those by Ingmar Bergman.

Sartre wanted Marilyn Monroe to play the role that was given to Susanna York.
