haha well i don't like to shop at wal-mart personally because of the really bad clientel, but were was it anyway? in that giant bin if dvds or something?
shareI have a DVD of this masterpiece.
"GIVE US BARABBAS! CRUCIFY THE NAZARENE!"
Not quite Quinns greatest, THAT is ZOrba the Greek, based on a novel by Nikos Kazantzakis, who also wrote "The Last Temptation of CHrist"
Also See Quinn as, I believe Caiphas the High Priest in "Jesus of Nazareth" Stacy keech as Barabas, Bob Powell as jesus Christ
All right, I know this post was from FOREVER ago, but I bought the DVD from Amazon.com for a minimal price :)
I've never seen it in stores, though.
~*~That's why I like Batman. He doesn't have any superpowers- he's just filthy rich!~*~
Got mine at Amazon just a little while ago.
I haven't seen it in stores either, and it's a shame.
It's such a great film.
Criterion it's a collection of allegedly the most influential and important films ever made.
I don't think "Barabba" is neither an that influential nor a milestone in cinema.
SO IMO this movie doesn't belongs to Criterion collection.
Having said that it would be nice to see a great DVD edition from this movie made by Sony Pictures or another company.
Criterion's standarda can't be that high. They put out Armageddon and the Beastie Boys video anthology.
"Charming company you keep."
Criterion DVDs are too expensive.

Who needs another overpriced Criterion edition? I bought my copy of Barabbas for $5.99 at the checkout stand of my local grocery store.
Criterion takes classic movies and puts them beyond the range of the budget-minded viewer, then packages them in bulky, unattractive boxes with tacky paper labels that won't stay on. I've had it with Criterion!
I have to disagree. The point to Criterion discs is the quality video and audio restorations and transfers as well as extras and commentary that are unavailable in other editions. If you want a poopy $5 copy of a film with no extras and a lousy transfer, why not just buy a vhs copy for a dollar at a flea market? You obviously don't care that much.
