Remake of The Searchers

TRT is nothing more than a sour remake of "The Searchers," minus the talent. Both Stewart and Widmark are terrible. Hack job from John Ford, who (except for "Liberty Valance") should have retired years earlier.

Funny you should mention both The Searchers and Liberty Valance. In another post I mentioned that Ford combined elements of both.

Don't think it is not as bad as you but it is obviously John Ford light.
